IMAT's Network of Organisations

ALBERTA NEW MEDIA ASSOCIATION: The Alberta New Media Association fosters an environment that builds the cohesiveness and professionalism of the New Media industry in Alberta. The Association is dedicated to promotion of the industry, to education, and to public awareness of New Media as an innovative and strategic communication tool, which has value for both business and the community.

APMQ: The Association des producteurs en multimédia du Québec (APMQ) was set up in April 1997 and today includes over 65 producers of multimedia content. Its mission is to defend and champion the producers' interests with a view to encouraging the growth of this industry. APMQ is actively involved with governments, funding agencies, research centres and other multimedia industry associations. Its aim is to provide producers with all the means necessary to ensure that multimedia products created in Quebec are recognized in both the domestic and world markets. In December 1997, APMQ released its first development plan for multimedia industry.

ASSOCATION OF WEB PROFESSIONALS (AWP): AWP is the industry recognized association and certification body dedicated to enhancing the value and credibility of Web professionals through on-going development and communication of standards, a code of ethics and professional development.

CANADIAN ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION (CATA): CATA Alliance is a results driven national trade association, comprised of over 1000 "new economy" enterprises. The common purpose that unites the membership is CATA Alliance's commitment to members' business growth. With offices across the country, CATA Alliance is focused on the provision of business services that conserve and leverage member resources. Because members are action-oriented businesses, CATA Alliance responds with action when members need specific services.

CANADIAN INTERACTIVE DIGITAL SOFTWARE ASSOCIATION: The Canadian Interactive Digital Software Association (CIDSA) was formed in May 1994 to provide a voice for the rapidly expanding interactive software industry. The association includes major Canadian video game manufacturers, software developers, distributors and retailers.

COLD FUSION USER GROUP: TORONTO CHAPTER: The Toronto Chapter of the Cold Fusion User Group is dedicated to supporting the local community of Cold Fusion Developers. We are a FREE, not-for-profit organization. Our leadership and advisory board is completely volunteer-run. FORUM DES INFOROUTES ET DU MULTIMÉDIA: The mission of the Forum des Inforoutes et du Multimdia is to promote the growing digital and interactive content industry in Quebec and connect it with the world. Open to all participants in and users of new media, the Forum brings together all the contributing partners involved in the new media production industry, such as content creators, digital graphic artists, designers, programmers, producers, distributors, information technology professionals, financial institutions and government organizations.

INTERNATIONAL INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATIONS SOCIETY, IICS VANCOUVER: The International Interactive Communications Society is a non-profit organization formed to promote the use of interactive communications in business, industry, education, and the arts. Since its incorporation in California in 1987, the IICS has worked to develop standards and provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of new products, systems, and techniques in the fields of interactive communications and multimedia.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION OF CANADA - ITAC ONTARIO: ITAC Ontario seeks to develop the Ontario information technology industry to its potential via representation to the provincial government and the sponsoring of development programs for its members.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES ASSOCIATION OF PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND (ITAP): Mission - Provide leadership on issues that affect the growth and prosperity of the Information Technology and Telecommunications Industry on Prince Edward Island.

MEDIAfusion-Halifax: MEDIAfusion is executing specific actions designed to firmly establish a viable and sustainable multimedia industry in Atlantic Canada. NEW BRUNSWICK INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ALLIANCE: The NBIT Alliance's goal is to act as a catalyst of increased activity, visibility and wealth creation for New Brunswick's IT sector.

NEW MEDIA BC: The organizing committee of New Media for the Pacific Century represents the BC companies who create, design, develop, and distribute new technology.

NEW MEDIA WEST CONSORTIUM: The New Media West Consortium in conjunction with various government departments and the Manitoba Multimedia Industry is to coordinate the evolution and development of new media in Winnipeg.

NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR ASSOCIATION OF TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRIES: Mission Statement - To act collectively for members to promote the growth and success of innovative technical industries in Newfoundland and Labrador in cooperation with educational and public sectors.

SASKATCHEWAN NEW MEDIA DEVELOPERS ASSOCIATION: The Saskatchewan New Media Developers Association Inc. is the professional organisation of New Media Developers in Saskatchewan. As that professional voice, the Association will act on behalf of its members to represent the views of New Media Developers in Saskatchewan to Government, Industry, the News Media, and to the general public.

SIGGRAPH - Toronto Chapter: SIGGRAPH is the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics. Our scope is to promote among our members the acquisition and exchange of information and opinion on the theory, design, implementation, and application of computer-generated graphics and interactive techniques to facilitate communication and understanding.

SMART Toronto: SMART Toronto will be a catalyst, honest broker and facilitator to help crystallize, coordinate and accelerate the development of digital creation and distribution in the GTA. SMART Toronto is a member-driven organization that exists for three main reasons: to promote the GTA as a centre for information industries; to promote the development of infrastructure and climate within the GTA such that information industries can flourish; and to provide both a virtual and actual venue for the cross-sectoral collaboration critical to bringing new products and services to the market in an information economy.

WEBGRRLS (MISSISSAUGA) - WOMEN ON THE WEB: Webgrrls is a learning and networking resource for women in and interested in new media and the Internet. Toronto Webgrrls was launched in July 1996 and today has over 175 members.
